As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up, knelt down before him, and asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”  Jesus answered him, “Why do you call me good?  No one is good but God alone.  You know the commandments: ‘You shall not kill; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; you shall not defraud; honor your father and your mother.’”  He replied and said to him, “Teacher, all of these I have observed from my youth.”  Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said to him, “You are lacking in one thing. Go, sell what you have, and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.  -Mark 10:17-21

Is there life after death?  Do our lives and our work have meaning?  What kind of life will make us happy?  All these questions are versions of the question that the man in Mark's Gospel asks Jesus.  And Jesus is ready with an answer.  Yes, there is life after death and our lives and our work do have meaning!  And we find that meaning in Jesus himself - because just as Jesus loved the man in the Gospel, so too does he love us and asks us to follow him - into eternal life!

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and its related rites and rituals is a process designed to provide adults with the intellectual, communal, and spiritual resources that they need to follow Jesus on the path he calls us to walk with him.  This process is for adults who:

• Have never been baptized.
• Have been baptized, grew up Catholic, but never got confirmed.
• Did not grow up Catholic and would like to come into full communion with the Catholic Church.
