Bishop da Cunha has approved the recommendation of the Pastoral Council of the Catholic Community of Falmouth to unite the three parishes in Falmouth and create a new parish. Each church and chapel will retain its own name, and will remain worship sites for the new parish. He has also accepted our recommendation and has named the new parish St. Joseph, Guardian of the Holy Family. This name was suggested by the council because not only is this the Year of St. Joseph but also because the first Catholic parish in Falmouth was St. Joseph in Woods Hole. The new parish will be formally established on July 1st.
